Do you actually need loyalty and subscriptions in the same tool?

If yes, Yotpo is built for that and Judge.me is not. If you only need reviews, you are paying for a suite you will not use. Note that Yotpo retired its SMS and email products at the end of 2025, so it is no longer a messaging suite.

Which is cheaper to start?

Judge.me. It is a flat $15 a month with a generous free plan and no volume caps. Yotpo starts at $15 a month on the Shopify App Store but climbs quickly, and real DTC spend with loyalty bundled is often several hundred dollars a month.

Which is lighter on my storefront?

Judge.me. Yotpo has the heaviest JavaScript footprint of the major review apps, which can slow your product pages. Judge.me is lighter and renders review content as crawlable HTML.

Which is better for search and AI visibility?

Judge.me. Its server-readable markup and JSON-LD make review content easy for crawlers and answer engines to read. Yotpo outputs schema too, but its heavy widgets make the underlying text harder to extract.

Questions
Is Yotpo worth it for just reviews?
Usually not. Yotpo is priced and built as a reviews, loyalty and subscriptions suite. If you only need reviews, a focused app like Judge.me gives you the core at a fraction of the cost.
Did Yotpo discontinue SMS and email?
Yes. Yotpo retired its SMS and email marketing products at the end of 2025. It is now centred on reviews, loyalty and subscriptions, so do not choose it expecting an all-in-one messaging suite.
Which is faster on my store?
Judge.me. Yotpo has the heaviest widget footprint among the major review apps, which can affect page speed and Core Web Vitals. Judge.me is lighter.
Which is better for SEO and AI search?
Judge.me, because its review content is server-readable and structured. Getting reviews actually cited by AI answer engines, rather than just marked up, is the problem BetterReviews is built to solve.
